Search and AI visibility

Where Grayscale ranks, who links to it, and how AI answers present it, from third-party data.

Except where marked as deck figures, the figures here come from one keyword, ranking and backlink (links from other websites) data provider (US market, English). Traffic and volume figures are modelled estimates. None comes from Search Console. The deck figures come from Semrush and Ahrefs, so the two sets cannot show a change from the deck.

I.1 Domain footprint

Measure This report (third-party provider) Deck v1.1 (Semrush, Ahrefs)
Organic keywords, all hosts 810 4,623
Estimated organic visits per month 14,265 31.8k
Referring domains (websites that link to the site) 11,708 (spam filtered) 14,245
Backlinks 83,659 not stated
Links to dead pages (broken backlinks / broken pages) 2,693 / 368 1,646 referring domains / 60 dead URLs

Over the 10 months from November 2025 to September 2026, the provider's trend has two data points. It shows 11,430 referring domains at the end of November 2025 and 11,428 at the end of September 2026. The latest figure in the table is 11,708.

I.2 Where the modelled traffic lands

The top 100 keywords by estimated traffic total 13,584 visits. The etfs host gets 75.8% of those visits, www 23.5% and research 0.8%. 59 of the 100 rows land on etfs, 39 on www and 2 on research. Most rows are ticker or fund-name searches, such as "gxrp etf", "gbtc price" and "ethe price".

I.3 The deck's key terms in Google

Each SERP was fetched to rank 100. The table counts organic positions only. The google.com/goto links were resolved to their targets before positions were counted (7 mobile links for "bitcoin etf" did not resolve).

Term Monthly searches Desktop capture Mobile capture
bitcoin etf no figure not in top 86 not in top 78 (7 of the top 8 links did not resolve; none of their titles mention Grayscale)
crypto etf 6,600 not in top 89 not in top 80
best bitcoin etf no figure not in top 85 not in top 82
how to invest in bitcoin no figure not in top 87 not in top 79
how to invest in crypto 1,900 not in top 87 not in top 79
xrp etf news no figure not in top 89 not in top 81
eth etf no figure not in top 87 not in top 75
should i buy bitcoin now no figure 1 (a Stack article) 4 (same article)
crypto funds 260 not in top 88 not in top 80
zcash etf no figure not in top 88; the ZCSH site also absent not in top 88; the ZCSH site also absent

"No figure" means the provider returned no volume for the term. The deck reports position 42 for "bitcoin etf", 3 for "xrp etf news" and 5 for "eth etf". None of those positions reproduced in these captures. Rankings change by day, device and location, so treat a single capture as a sample, not a fact.

I.4 Rankings on parameter URLs

The fund page www.grayscale.com/funds/grayscale-bittensor-trust?public ranks first for "gtao stock" and "gtao stock price". The same fund also ranks first on its clean URL, for example for "grayscale bittensor trust", so its ranking strength is split across two URLs.

I.5 AI answers

The October 2026 deck covers 584 prompts on 4 engines. The AI study was not re-measured here. Two figures need care in public copy. The share of all non-brand answers that name Grayscale first is 16.7% (deck label: "named first, non-brand"). The share of answers that name Grayscale where it comes first is 32.1% (deck label: "leads when present"). The v1.1 deck shows this second figure as "32%" under the label "named first". The non-brand mention rates by engine are 49%, 41%, 37% and 41%, which average 42%. Multiplying 42% by 32.1% gives about 13.5%, not 16.7%, so the figures do not reconcile. Review the dashboard's denominators (the base for each percentage) before either figure goes into new public copy LIKELY.

I.6 Which page types win the category terms

In the desktop capture, the top 10 for "best bitcoin etf" are comparison lists, a forum thread, reviews, 2 explainers and a video. No issuer fund page appears. The top 10 for "crypto etf" are explainers and lists, a strategy page from ProShares (an ETF issuer), a guide from CoinShares, a live data page and a video. The top 10 for "how to invest in crypto" are beginner guides, a forum thread and a video. Grayscale has explainer and guide pages on www and research, but none appears in these results. Its fund pages do rank for single-fund terms, for example "gxrp etf" (33,100 average monthly searches over 12 months, position 1), "ripple etf" (position 1) and "avalanche etf" (position 1).

I.7 Other findings from further tools

  • The domain's backlink data lists 368 broken target pages. That supports a wider redirect plan than the 60-row redirect map.
  • The GEO citability scorer could not read the etfs and Institute pages it was given. The scores in Part E come from the saved server HTML.
