Content and editorial

How the 499 indexable pages measure up to Google's guidance, page by page.

All 499 indexable pages were read in full and given a verdict: 421 Improve, 38 Merge, 30 Keep, 10 Remove (Part G.1). Content finding IDs start with C. Quotes below are copied exactly from the live page text. The Google rules the report relies on are quoted, with their G numbers, in Part D.4.

Content findings C-1, C-2, C-3, C-4, C-5 need legal or compliance review, so they are on the Trust and compliance page.

Pages to cut or merge

Medium2

Who acts The content owner.

Thin pages and pages that repeat another page's topic.

C-6MediumwwwetfsresearchInstituteZCSH

24 pages are thin, and 10 have no value to a reader

CONFIRMED. The 10 Remove verdicts include 2 empty Institute author archives (list pages for one author), /course-summary/ and the subscription test page. Others include a near-copy of the Ethereum report (/reports/ethereum-the-og-smart-contract-blockchain1), a teaser for the 2020 halving (a cut in the bitcoin mining reward), and the expired IPO pre-registration FAQ (/resources/dsp-faqs: "Pre-registration will end on November 24, 2025").

  • The 2 Institute author archives also show email addresses. /author/grayscaleresearchteam/ shows an address on riadatabase.com, a domain other than grayscale.com. A staff author archive shows a staff email address in its body and in its URL slug (the last part of the web address).
  • Fix Remove or redirect the 10 pages; hide email fields in the author template; add summaries or transcripts to the thin video pages.
C-7MediumwwwetfsresearchInstituteZCSH

38 pages repeat a topic that another page covers

LIKELY. The page review flagged 119 pages for topic overlap and gave 38 a Merge verdict; 19 of the 38 are research pages. Part G.1 names the page to merge into for each one.

  • Fix Merge each into the named page and redirect the old URL with a 301 (permanent redirect).

Accuracy, sources and text defects

Medium1Low2

Who acts The content owner, with compliance for fund facts.

Pages that contradict themselves, claims with no source, and text defects.

C-8MediumwwwetfsresearchInstituteZCSH

50 pages contain internal contradictions or mixed facts

LIKELY; the 2 examples below were checked against the page text. The DeFi (decentralized finance) report (/reports/a-report-on-decentralized-finance-defi) says DeFi "is on pace to generate ~$900 million in annual revenue" and later "nearly $1.5 billion of annualized revenue". A tokenization report (/reports/investing-in-the-tokenization-megatrend) says tokenized assets "total about $30 billion" and also cites "over $348 billion in tokenized asset value" on one network (Canton).

  • Fix An editor checks each flagged page against its own data notes.
C-10LowwwwetfsresearchInstitute

207 pages make claims with no source on the page

LIKELY. Examples are superlatives such as "the largest" or "the first" with no citation.

  • Fix Add a source or a date to each superlative, or remove it.
C-11LowwwwetfsresearchInstituteZCSH

Text defects appear on many pages

CONFIRMED. The page review found 264 visible defects on 179 pages, such as missing letters ("CeFi ofers some of the yield benefts") and missing words ("Both Bitcoin and r declined about 10%"). Each quote appears in the page's visible text.

Answers AI tools can quote

Medium1

Who acts The content owner.

Key templates score low on what makes a page easy to quote.

C-9MediumwwwetfsresearchInstituteZCSH

Key templates are hard for AI tools to quote

CONFIRMED, GEO citability scorer on the server HTML. Scores range from 37 (Stack article) to 50 (ZCSH home) out of 100 on 15 templates. All 15 score 0 on quotations, 14 score 0 on FAQ content, and 13 score 0 on readability. The blog post, FAQ and 3 research templates score 0 on answer-first openings (a direct answer near the top). Fund pages and Stack articles score 3 to 5 of 5 on that measure.

  • Fix Open research and blog pages with a one-paragraph answer, and add a short FAQ block to fund pages.

Remove (10 pages)

Page Reason
Institute/author/grayscaleresearchteam/ Empty author archive with no courses and no bio. It gives a reader nothing to use.
Institute staff author archive (the slug is built from a staff email address; the full URL is in page-verdicts.csv) Empty author archive for a staff member, with no bio and no courses. It gives a reader nothing to use.
Institute/course-summary/ Error page that shows Invalid Class ID provided and no course content. It gives a reader no value.
Institute/in-practice-how-to-integrate-digital-assets-into-traditional-portfolios/ Empty template page with placeholder text and no class content. The live class page under courses covers this class.
Institute/sdm_downloads/check-course-syllabus-and-register-for-classes-3-and-4/ Download page that shows only the notice "The admin of this site has disabled this download item page." The course pages for classes 3 and 4 hold the registration.
Institute/sdm_downloads/sign-up-for-the-stack-blog/ Sign-up download page that shows only the notice "The admin of this site has disabled this download item page." A reader finds no content.
Institute/the-stack-subscription-test/ Form test page for a newsletter sign-up. It holds only form labels and no content a reader needs.
research/reports/ethereum-the-og-smart-contract-blockchain1 Near-identical copy of the full Ethereum report at the URL without the -1 suffix. It omits only the investment, glossary and disclosure sections (a compliance risk: a live research copy without its disclosures), so it adds no unique content.
research/reports/the-next-bitcoin-halving Teaser for a report about the halving that took place in May 2020. Only 143 words and no market data, so it has no value to a reader now.
www/resources/dsp-faqs Expired IPO pre-registration FAQ. The window closed on November 24, 2025, so the page gives instructions that no longer apply.

G.2 Titles, descriptions and H1s

482 of 499 indexable pages need at least one change: a duplicate title, no description, the generic description, no H1, or more than one H1. File: titles-and-descriptions-to-write.csv.

What Google does not require

E.1 What Google does not require

  • Google has no preferred word count (G-19). A short page is a problem when it gives the reader nothing, not because of its length.
  • Google says "You don't need to create new machine readable files, AI text files, or markup to appear in these features" (G-18). llms.txt (an AI text file) returns 404 (page not found) on the 5 hosts that could be tested (events.grayscale.com blocked every test request); that is not a Google Search problem.
  • Old dated posts can stay live with a clear date and a status note; deletion is not needed (C-4).
